Steam disinfects and kills 99.9% of germs at a temperature between 175 °F and 212 °F. To kill the most germs, hold contact with steam for at least 3 minutes which is long enough to get rid of germs, dust mites, mold, and viruses without using chemical sanitizers.
Why Use Steam for the Coronavirus COVID-19
The CDC has explained that COVID-19 cannot live in hot temperatures above 90 degrees. Most germs are very resilient so applying steam for a short period may not get rid of them.
